Police are asking for the public’s help after new speed feedback signs were damaged in Norwich Township.
Members of the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say two signs were recently installed along Highway 59 between Oxford Road 13 and Beaconsfield Road. The signs were set up to monitor and display speeds for both northbound and southbound traffic.
Officers were notified on April 20, around 10 a.m., that one of the signs had been damaged sometime between April 16 and April 17. That sign was replaced on April 17, but police say both signs were found damaged again the following day, April 18.
The total cost of the damage is estimated at around $6,000. Police have not released details on how the signs were vandalized.
Investigators are now looking for anyone who may have information about the incidents. Anyone with details is asked to contact Oxford OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
Those wishing to remain anonymous can also contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
