Hockey fans in Norfolk County are in for an action-packed weekend as the Six Pack Hockey Tournament returns to Langton.
The event, organized by the Norfolk Oldtimers Men’s Hockey League, features wall-to-wall games over four days.
That was Mike Andres, who schedules all those games – and he’ll tell you, that is a task in itself.
If you’re wondering how they manage to fit that many games into just four days, it’s because a Six Pack hockey game plays out a bit differently than a traditional one.
To start, as the name suggests, only six players are on the ice for each team.
Each team is guaranteed three games, with quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals taking place Sunday from 3 p.m. to roughly 7:30 p.m.
Andres notes that the tournament isn’t just about hockey – it’s also a chance for participants to give back to the community.
It’s free to watch the games, but donations are always welcome.
The Six Pack Hockey Tournament is an exciting showcase of local talent, including some former OHL and OHA players, offering a mix of competitive play, community spirit, and fun for fans of all ages.
