Norfolk County residents curious about running in the next municipal election are invited to an upcoming information session designed to explain the process and expectations.
The session takes place Thursday, April 9th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in council chambers at the County building on Colborne Street. It will also be available virtually, with a recording posted online afterward.
County Clerk Bill Tigert says the evening will be split into two parts.
He added the Ministry will outline the rules and regulations for running a campaign in the municipal election. Tigert will follow up their presentation with details about the role itself.
Tigert explained it’s a great opportunity for people who are sitting on the fence and want to better understand what’s involved in running and what their responsibilities would be.
There will be time for questions for both in-person and online attendees. He said they’ll stay until people run out of questions or until about nine o’clock.
Nominations officially open May 1, giving potential candidates time to prepare.
