Ontario Provincial Police have charged an 18-year-old novice driver after a high-speed stop in Norfolk County.
Police say the driver was clocked travelling 167 kilometres per hour in a posted 80 km/h zone, more than double the legal speed limit.
The individual now faces multiple charges, including stunt driving.
Officers are using the incident as a reminder of the dangers associated with excessive speed, particularly among inexperienced drivers.
Police stress that driving is a privilege, not a right, and that risky behaviour behind the wheel can have serious consequences.
The OPP continues to urge motorists to slow down and make road safety a priority, noting that even a brief moment of thrill can lead to life-altering outcomes.
