A community fundraiser aimed at supporting student programming at Simcoe Composite School has been postponed.
Organizers announced that the Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser, originally scheduled for Thursday, March 26, will now take place later this spring.
A new date and time have not yet been confirmed but are expected to be announced in the near future.
The event is being organized by students, staff, and School Council members, with the goal of raising the final funds needed for a full renovation of the school’s kitchen.
The upgraded space is intended to support Hospitality and Family Studies programs by providing students with access to modern, professional-grade equipment.
Before the postponement, the event was set to feature two dinner sittings in the school cafeteria, offering a menu that included spaghetti and meatballs, Caesar salad, beverages, and desserts prepared by the school’s Cookie Club.
Ticket prices had been set at $15 for adults and secondary students, $12 for elementary students, and free for children under six.
All proceeds from the fundraiser are earmarked for the kitchen project, which is expected to benefit students beginning in the 2026–27 school year.
Organizers are thanking those who had already purchased tickets and say they hope to welcome the community once the event is rescheduled.
