Haldimand and Norfolk Housing and Social Services has unveiled a redesigned website and expanded its online housing application system in an effort to improve access and streamline services for residents.
The new website, available at hnhss.ca, brings together information on Housing Services, Homelessness Prevention, Employment and Financial Assistance through Ontario Works, and Children’s Services into a single, user-friendly platform.
Officials say the site was built with accessibility and ease of use in mind, featuring simplified menus, mobile-friendly functionality, and plain-language content that meets Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act standards.
At the same time, HNHSS has expanded its Centralized Wait List application system. Households can now complete one online application to apply for Rent-Geared-to-Income housing as well as other affordable and supportive housing options.
The updated system also connects applicants with community-based providers such as Indwell and the Canadian Mental Health Association, offering more pathways to deeply affordable housing across Haldimand and Norfolk.
Beginning July 1, 2026, housing applications will be accepted online only.
Officials say the shift will reduce paperwork and allow applications to be processed more efficiently, while support will remain available for residents who require assistance accessing the website or submitting documents.
Information from the previous housing-focused and social services-focused websites has been consolidated into the new platform, creating what officials describe as a more streamlined experience for residents and service providers alike.
Residents are encouraged to explore the new website and provide feedback. Housing and Social Services offices remain available by phone and in person in Simcoe and Dunnville.
