The U9 HERicanes made a special visit to Norview Lodge this past weekend, bringing joy and energy to residents during a heartwarming afternoon.
The young athletes spent time in the social room teaching a group of ladies how to make loom bracelets. They also created friendship bracelets for each senior in attendance. The team coloured pictures with residents while sharing refreshments and wrapped up the visit with a lively game of Olympic bingo.
Earlier in the week, the girls gathered to make more than 170 handmade Valentine’s Day cards to ensure every resident received one. After the activities, the team toured the building, delivering the cards to residents in all living areas and handing out treats to staff.
Following the visit, the recreation therapist from Norview Lodge thanked the team, saying the girls were “so well behaved” and that residents “couldn’t stop talking about their bracelets,” adding they would be welcome back anytime.
