A Norfolk County resident has been charged following an assault investigation in Windham Centre.
On Wednesday, February 4, at approximately 1:03 p.m., Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault on Windham East Quarter Line Road. The investigation found that one individual assaulted another during an interaction, causing minor injuries.
Police located the suspect as they attempted to leave the scene in the victim’s vehicle, taking them into custody without incident. ”
The thirty-six-year-old faces charges including assault with a weapon, theft of a motor vehicle, driving while under suspension, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
Authorities continue to remind residents that assaults are criminal offenses and anyone witnessing such acts should contact the OPP immediately.
