The Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre remained closed over the weekend after service disruptions tied to ongoing pool chemistry issues, just days after the facility was expected to reopen following a prolonged closure.
The aquatic centre had been shut down since the end of December after blooding caused damage to equipment.
Officials announced on Friday, January 23, that the pool was nearing reopening, with a tentative leisure swim scheduled that afternoon.
However, multiple swim programs were cancelled after staff discovered continued chemistry problems.
While free swims were initially expected to proceed later in the day, those were also ultimately cancelled, and the facility remained closed through Sunday.
Norfolk County says staff continue working to ensure the pool meets all provincial safety requirements, with hopes the aquatic centre will reopen today (Monday) once water quality testing confirms it is safe for public use.
