The New Year’s Day Polar Bear Dip in Port Dover did more than wake up swimmers with a plunge into Lake Erie — it also helped feed the community.
Following the annual dip, residents gathered at the Port Dover Lions Community Centre for the “After the Dip” celebration, featuring dancing, food, and live entertainment. The event was presented by Live at the Lodge and the Port Dover Lions, with all proceeds supporting the Port Dover Area Lifeline Foodbank.
The event was a strong success. Members of the Lions and Live at the Lodge presented the Lifeline Foodbank with a $5,000 cheque, helping support local families in need.
Organizers thanked the community for turning a chilly tradition into meaningful local support.
