An individual has been charged following an assault investigation in Caledonia earlier this month.
According to the Ontario Provincial Police, officers with the Haldimand detachment responded to a reported assault on Argyle Street at approximately 12:55 p.m. on January 9th.
Police say the incident involved two individuals who were engaged in a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical altercation.
Following an investigation, a 60-year-old Caledonia resident has been charged in connection with the incident.
The accused faces charges of Assault with a Weapon and Theft Under $5,000.
Police have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the altercation or the nature of the alleged weapon involved.
