Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision that occurred Wednesday evening in Norfolk County.
Emergency crews were called to Highway 3, just outside the community of Courtland, at approximately 7:12 p.m. on January 7th.
Norfolk County OPP, along with Norfolk County Paramedic Services and the Norfolk County Fire Department, responded to reports of a sedan that had been involved in a collision.
Police say the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 36-year-old Norfolk County resident, sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No other vehicles were reported to be involved.
Highway 3 was temporarily closed between Goshen Road and Plowman’s Line to allow investigators to examine the scene.
The roadway has since reopened to traffic.
The OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team is assisting with the investigation.
Police are asking anyone who was travelling along Highway 3 at the time of the collision, or who may have dashcam footage or information that could assist investigators, to contact Norfolk County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
