Haldimand County OPP have laid impaired driving charges following a serious single-vehicle collision last month.
Police were called to Mississauga Road between New Credit Road and Tuscarora Road on November 18, 2025, after reports that a driver had been ejected from their vehicle during a crash. Upon arrival, officers confirmed the male driver had been thrown from the vehicle and was receiving medical attention.
During the investigation, officers determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision. The man was transported to Hamilton General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver was placed under arrest for Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs while at the hospital and later released from custody. He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga.
Haldimand OPP continue to stress that impaired driving remains one of the leading causes of serious collisions and fatalities on Ontario roads. Anyone who suspects an impaired driver is urged to call 9-1-1 immediately.
