The Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board has elected Norfolk County Trustee Carol Luciani as its new Chair for the 2025–2026 term. City of Brantford Trustee Bill Chopp was chosen as Vice-Chair during the board’s Annual Meeting on December 10.
In her remarks, Luciani said the board is beginning “a new chapter” focused on student success, belonging, strong teaching, and wellness for all staff and students. She emphasized that these priorities work together to support thriving school communities.
Luciani brings years of experience to the role, having served five years as Vice-Chair and the past year as Chair. A former elementary school principal, she is known for her advocacy for inclusive and equitable classrooms. She is also an active member of the Our Lady Queen of Martyrs and Catholic Family Parishes of Norfolk communities.
Trustees and the Senior Leadership Team marked the meeting with a Celebration of the Eucharist led by Father Augustine Ogundele, with music ministry by Keri Calvesbert and Chris Rait.
