A special weather alert is in effect for Norfolk County as Environment Canada warns of significant snowfall impacting the region today.
Forecasters say up to 10 centimetres of snow is possible, with heavy bursts and blowing snow reducing visibility at times.
An Alberta clipper is moving through the area this morning, and snow is expected to taper to rain showers or flurries.
There is a brief pause in the snow this evening, but it will pick back up again after midnight with risk of snow squalls overnight.
He advises that, if people have the option, they should stay home until the weather clears up and road conditions improve.
