Norfolk General Hospital (NGH) is celebrating a major achievement after its Laboratory Services Team earned the highest accreditation award from Accreditation Canada Diagnostics. The assessment took place from April 14 to 16, 2025, and confirmed the team’s strong performance across more than 420 quality and patient-safety standards.
Accreditation Canada is recognized worldwide, and this award highlights NGH’s commitment to delivering safe, reliable diagnostic services. NGH’s laboratory supports residents across Norfolk County and surrounding communities with hematology, clinical chemistry, pathology, ECGs, and transfusion medicine. Over the past year, the team completed more than 400,300 lab tests, helping physicians diagnose health concerns quickly so patients can receive timely care close to home.
During the accreditation visit, surveyors observed daily operations, reviewed policies and safety practices, and spoke with staff and physicians.
Director of Integrated Laboratory Services Chetan Jariwala said, “This recognition from Accreditation Canada clearly demonstrates the hard work of our laboratory staff and pathologists, especially over the past several years. We are proud to serve Norfolk County and remain committed to delivering reliable, exceptional diagnostic services close to home.”
