The Jarvis Light Up Celebration is back with its biggest and brightest edition yet, filling the community with festive cheer, dazzling lights, and a heartwarming message of kindness.
This year’s Light Up theme is Evolution, but Elf Lisa Nigh says that does also recognize the things they have been doing that work – such as their message of spreading cheer for all.
That included the Coca Cola’s Kindness Community event this past Saturday.
That was their official kick off to the festive season, which means when you are driving through Jarvis at night, you are in for a treat.
Of the 550 homes taking part, it ranges from traditional light displays to something that goes above and beyond what you would expect in any other small town other than Jarvis.
The home-decorating contest is offering over $10,000 in prizes, Golden Tickets, and VIP experiences.
The big highlight for everyone is on December 13th.
That’s when they hold their big public event featuring fireworks, a midway, music, prizes, and free treats.
If you missed the fireworks display last year, you may be extra surprised when you come this year.
They work with an amazing company to link the fireworks to music, putting on an incredible show, and this year will be no different.
Organizers are once again partnering with the Haldimand Tractor and the Doughty family to collect food donations for local food banks.
Last year, more than 4,000 pounds were donated; this year, the team is aiming for 10 tons of Christmas kindness.
Donors will also have a chance to win prizes, including a Kubota side-by-side.

During the kickoff event earlier this month, organizers also unveiled an exciting new community project: preliminary renderings for a future splash pad and recreation space, proposed for the Jarvis Lawn Bowling Hall site.
A large billboard showcasing the concept will be installed soon, giving residents a first look at the newest piece of the community’s “big dream.”
The design will evolve over time, but organizers say the vision is clear-creating a gathering place for families that reflects the kindness and spirit Jarvis is known for.
Now, the community is being asked to help with one major detail: naming the project.
Residents can submit name ideas-along with their name, phone number, and hometown-to thebuildingname@gmail.com until January 1, 2026.
