The Ontario Provincial Police is reminding drivers across the province to prepare for winter road conditions after responding to several collisions on Sunday.
Sgt. Ed Sanchuk with the West Region OPP went to social media to remind everyone of the basics.
With that, Sanchuk says for most – winter weather should not come as a surprise.
Following simple safety steps can make all the difference during the next big snow event.
The OPP recommends keeping an emergency kit in every vehicle, including blankets, flashlights, and non-perishable food items.
Officials stress the importance of planning ahead and checking Ontario 511 or local radio stations for real-time updates on road closures and weather conditions.
The OPP says that by taking proactive steps before winter hits full force, drivers can help reduce crashes and ensure safer travel for everyone sharing Ontario’s roads this season.
