Every year, the Teeterville Legion Branch 526 holds a unique Remembrance Day service the Sunday before November 11th.
Mike Bergman, Poppy Chair for the Teeterville Legion, explained that this tradition began over 40 years ago
The early service allows people who might otherwise be busy on Remembrance Day itself — including local dignitaries like the mayor, provincial, and federal members of parliament — to attend.
The parade begins around 1:45 p.m., marching from the Teeterville fire hall to the Legion branch, concluding with a short service at 2 p.m.
The branch is formally known as the Wagner Memorial Branch, and Bergman talked about why that is.
After the service, all attendees are invited to enjoy a complimentary lunch, rain or shine, thanks to the support of Norfolk County officials and the fire department.
