A 32-year-old Norfolk County man has been charged following an investigation into a stolen vehicle that fled from police during an earlier traffic stop attempt in Simcoe.
On Sunday, an OPP officer on patrol observed a U-Haul truck parked on Queensway East.
Investigators determined it was the same vehicle involved in a previous incident on Sydenham Street, where the driver allegedly struck a police cruiser and fled.
Through further investigation, police confirmed the U-Haul had been reported stolen in Brantford.
Officers located and arrested the driver without incident and seized stolen property found inside the vehicle.
The accused has been charged with theft and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
