Police across Ontario are warning about an increase in online child exploitation cases.
Between September 22 and 26, 2025, 14 agencies from the Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet focused on reports of children self-exploiting online.
Officers spoke with 282 families, noting the average age of the children involved was between five and nine years old.
The Provincial Strategy works with law enforcement partners across the province to share information, resources, and investigative tools to combat online child abuse.
Police urge parents to stay engaged with their children’s online activities and to educate them about internet safety.
Anyone with information about online child exploitation is asked to contact their local police or report through cybertip.ca.
If a child is in immediate danger, call 911. A video about the initiative is available on the Ontario Provincial Police YouTube channel.
