With the Norfolk County Fair and Horse Show now wrapped up, all eyes are turning north as Waterford Pumpkinfest prepares to light up the town this weekend.
Preparations began early Tuesday morning as members of the Waterford Lions Club gathered to collect pumpkins — the first major step toward transforming Waterford into its familiar autumn spectacle.
That was Past President Alex Vervaet of the Waterford Lions.
One of Pumpkinfest’s most cherished traditions — the Pumpkin Pyramid, also known as the pumpkin tree — is already taking shape.
This towering display features carved pumpkins made by local children and is one of the festival’s most photographed attractions.
On Thursday, students will bring their creations to the arena to add to the pyramid, officially kicking off a weekend that celebrates community pride, creativity, and fall spirit.
For the Waterford Lions, Pumpkinfest remains one of the highlights of the year — a time when the community comes together to celebrate everything local.
