More than 130 Ontario paramedics have been recognized with the Governor General’s Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal.
The awards, presented by the Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs, honour those who have provided at least 20 years of outstanding service in the field.
Among this year’s recipients are Jennifer Hancock and Tiiu Jaanusson from Norfolk County, and Elaine Elliott from Haldimand County.
The medal recognizes paramedics who go above and beyond to protect their communities while often putting themselves at risk.
