Toyotetsu TTCA is helping fight cancer one pumpkin at a time. The company presented a $6,000 cheque to Hamilton Health Sciences’ Juravinski Cancer Centre yesterday as part of the annual Austin’s Pumpkin Patch fundraising effort.
The donation stems from a unique partnership with Scotlynn, where all 1,200 pumpkins are donated. Each Toyotetsu employee is invited to pick a pumpkin, to take home with them. Representatives from Toyotetsu TTCA, Scotlynn Group, Hamilton Health Sciences and Austin’s Pumpkin Patch were all present.
This marks the fourth year the company has supported Austin’s Pumpkin Patch, an initiative powered by community members. In addition to pumpkin sales, the fundraiser includes baked goods, crafts, and other donated items, with all money contributing to vital medical equipment. You can learn more here.
This year’s funds will help purchase immobilization boards, which support cancer patients during radiation treatments.
Organizers say the partnership shows how teamwork, generosity, and community spirit can grow something bigger than pumpkins.
