Haldimand–Norfolk MP Leslyn Lewis says Conservatives will make tackling the cost of living, job losses, crime, and what she calls “immigration failures” their top priorities as Parliament returns today.
In a social media post, Lewis blamed what she described as a decade of Liberal mismanagement for reaching “crisis levels” in those areas.
The fall sitting will also mark the first head-to-head in the House between Prime Minister Mark Carney and Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, who recently returned after winning a byelection in Alberta.
Carney has said his government will push for unity on major projects and economic growth, while Poilievre is promising to hold Liberals accountable but also signal more co-operation where possible.
