Norfolk County and the Grand River Conservation Authority are among local groups receiving new support from Ontario’s Invasive Species Action Fund.
The program is funding 116 projects across the province to tackle invasive plants, insects, and other species threatening ecosystems.
Ontario faces the highest number of invasive species in Canada, costing an estimated $3.6 billion annually.
Officials say the funding will strengthen biodiversity and protect local parks, lakes, and forests.
