Police are investigating two incidents of “swatting” in Haldimand County after false emergency calls led to major responses this week.
On September 2nd, OPP were called to Haldimand Road 53 near Jarvis after a caller reported a bomb threat, and the following day a local school was forced into lockdown due to another false report.
In both cases, police determined no real threats existed.
The OPP says Emergency Call Fraud wastes critical police and emergency resources and can endanger lives by diverting help from genuine emergencies.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
