Canada Post is urging the Canadian Union of Postal Workers to revisit its offers after a bargaining session Wednesday.
The corporation says the union has “hardened” its position on key issues and added new demands, leaving a “substantial” gap.
Canada Post says it reviewed counter-offers submitted last week but found they failed to reflect the realities facing the company.
Talks come as the Crown corporation reported a $407-million second-quarter loss, citing weaker parcel sales and labour uncertainty.
