The Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police are asking for the public’s help after multiple thefts were reported at cemeteries across the region.
Since last week, police have received complaints from four separate locations, including Bayview Cemetery in Port Rowan, Sacred Heart Cemetery in Langton, Port Dover Cemetery, and Delhi Cemetery.
Investigators say the suspects are targeting items containing brass and bronze, such as nameplates, screws, and in one troubling case, an urn.
Police are encouraging residents who live near cemeteries, along with those who visit them, to be especially alert to unusual or suspicious behaviour.
