J&M Memorials is introducing new technology to the traditional craft of monument design.
Owner-operator Peter Mauthe says some of the new advancements, like laser etchings and QR codes, are something that people have been seeking for some time and they are now happy to be able to offer it.
Laser technology allows for a remarkable level of detail in headstone artwork.
Unlike traditional sandblasting, which provides simple outlines, laser etching can capture fine details, such as the texture of a flower or intricate designs.
The company is also offering QR codes for headstones, a modern option that allows visitors to scan with their smartphones and access photos, stories, poems and more.
If you are hearing about this and wish this technology was around when a loved one passed away, there is some good news.
These QR codes come separately, and can be mounted to existing graves.
Both technologies have already been well received by local families, with many embracing the ability to blend tradition with innovation.
