There’s a new tick in town this summer and this one’s carrying a serious bacterial infection.
Unfortunately, the only place you’ve been able to find it in Ontario is right here in Norfolk County.
That was Strathroy Animal Clinic veterinarian Courtney Thomas, who is raising the alarm for people in her community and right here in Norfolk as well.
Symptoms include not eating, a rash and running a fever but it can be treated.
Humans can get Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever as well and just like dogs, it can be serious if not treated.
