Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that happened early Tuesday (Aug 5), on Haldimand Highway 54. Emergency crews responded just after midnight to a rollover between Onondaga Townline Road and Harrison Road.
Police say a vehicle left the road, hit a guardrail, and landed in a ditch. The driver, a 19-year-old from Wilsonville and the only person in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The OPP’s West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team is leading the investigation. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage from the area is asked to call the Haldimand OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Haldimand Highway 54 was closed during the officer’s investigation.
