Haldimand & Norfolk Women’s Services has been awarded a $10,000 Resilient Communities Fund grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, a pivotal investment that will enable the agency to chart its future and continue providing critical services for women, children, and families impacted by gender-based violence.
On Wednesday, MPP Bobbi Ann Brady met with the HNWS team to recognize the grant and celebrate its role in strengthening the agency’s long-standing mission.
The $10,000 OTF grant will be used to develop a three-year strategic plan, focusing on the agency’s core areas of work, including:
-
Revenue generation
-
Research and development
-
Service provision
-
Community engagement
The initiative is vital to HNWS as it continues addressing the evolving needs of women and families in Haldimand and Norfolk.
The agency operates as a refuge and resource hub for those experiencing abuse and serves as a beacon of safety and support throughout the area.
With rising instances of gender-based violence and the increased pressure placed on support services, this OTF grant arrives at a pivotal moment.
By strategically planning for the future, HNWS aims to solidify its role as a cornerstone resource for those in crisis, ensuring it can continue making a profound and lasting impact across Haldimand and Norfolk counties.
