The Norfolk Association for Community Living (NACL) unveiled a special tribute earlier this afternoon to honour its longest-serving staff. The event, held at NACL’s Simcoe office, featured the official reveal of “Rooted in Dedication: 35 Years of Service,” a commemorative tree recognizing seven employees who have each dedicated 35 years to the organization.
The wall-mounted wooden tree, handcrafted by local artisan Tony Kokus of Kokus Kraft Works, features leaves engraved with the names of seven employees who have each dedicated 35 years to the organization. The wood, sourced from Norfolk County, symbolizes the strength and deep community roots of NACL.
NACL Board President Jill Binkley praised the employees, saying the tree is a lasting reminder of their compassion, dedication, and impact on people with developmental disabilities.
The installation marks the start of an ongoing tradition. Future names will be added as more employees reach this milestone, reflecting NACL’s continued growth and commitment to inclusion.
