
Team Ontario’s U19 girls softball squad is off to a strong start this season, winning their first tournament in Fredericton, New Brunswick with a perfect 5-0 record. They defeated PEI in the finals.
Delhi’s own Avyree Sherman plays first base and outfield for the team, while fellow Delhi native Courtney Gilbert is an assistant coach.
The team is now setting its sights on the prestigious Canada Summer Games, scheduled for August in Newfoundland. To gear up, they will compete in the Canada Cup in British Columbia this July.
With strong local talent and early season momentum, Team Ontario is proving to be a contender on the national stage. Fans locally and across the province are cheering them on as they continue their journey.
