The Ontario government is investing over $4.2 million to expand and accelerate nursing education across the province.
$2 million will go toward launching accelerated RN degree programs at Conestoga, St. Lawrence, Western, and York University—allowing students to graduate in 3 to 3.5 years.
Another $750,000 will help Georgian College, Humber Polytechnic, and the University of Windsor introduce RN prescribing into undergraduate training, making Ontario the first in Canada to do so.
Officials say this will help meet growing healthcare demands provincewide.
