Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Simcoe is revving up for its annual Car Show this Friday (May 23) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event promises a day of fun, flashy rides, and community spirit—all while supporting a good cause.
Organized by auto teacher Clark Chernak, he shared how the show has grown in size and excitement over the years.
The event is free to attend and open to the public. Those wishing to display a vehicle can register on the day for $10, with all proceeds going to the United Way. Chernak notes that entries should be “something special” to showcase. There’s no pre-registration, but vehicles will be approved on-site to maintain the show’s quality.
Students are involved in planning and hosting the event. One of them, Kevin Rooney, explained the 11 judged categories for Friday’s show.
Eleven plaques will be awarded—one for each vehicle category—judged by local automotive experts and enthusiasts. Judging will take place mid-day, and awards will be placed on the winning vehicles.
Food will also be part of the fun, with the school cafeteria offering a pulled pork combo meal. The building will be open for public washroom access. Chernak said some special guests are expected.
Last year, GSR Racing handed out free tickets to events at Ohsweken Speedway, and organizers are hopeful they’ll do so again this year.
The show always draws a crowd of Mustangs from multiple generations and a wide range of custom vehicles. With posters around town and calls from car lovers near and far, organizers are hoping for another strong turnout.
Whether you’re a gearhead, a family looking for a fun outing, or just someone who loves cool cars and community events, Holy Trinity’s Car Show promises a high-octane good time—rain or shine.
