The Simcoe Legion was electric yesterday as Norfolk County Championship Wrestling brought wrestling back to the community with Stomping Ground 2.
The event also celebrated the company’s one year anniversary in the community.
At the event, a new champion was crowned as Pretty Ricky Willdy beat Hayden Buckland to become the Heavyweight Champion.
They also began a tournament to crown their first ever Tag Team champions.
There was also an announcement for a big event in October, with money from the county and support from the Port Dover Board Of Trade, called Clash at the Coast.
This event would bring in some legends and other big names of wrestling to the area for a two shows in one day, with a meet and greet with wrestlers inbetween.
Unfortunately one of the big names announces, Sabu, passed away yesterday.
Other names include Al Snow and the Mountie.
