
Spring weather appears to finally be here – and with it comes backyard burnings.
The Norfolk County Fire Department is reminding residents of the basics as they begin to burn brush and branches – starting with the absolute basics.
That was Fire Prevention Officer Cory Armstrong Smith.
He says getting a permit, and following the rules, will save a lot of time for your local firefighters.
Sadly, there has already been a few incidents to start the season.
April 12th and 13th saw firetrucks rolling out of stations as people lit fires in less than ideal situations.
He said while mother nature is finally shining down on Norfolk County, Spring weather is different than what you get in the middle of summer – especially when it comes to that wind.
