
Norfolk County residents can soon register for the Spring Household Hazardous Waste events, which provide a safe way to dispose of hazardous materials. Registration opens Wednesday, March 19th, at noon hour.
The first event takes place in Simcoe on Saturday, April 19th, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 591 Norfolk Street South. The second event is in Delhi on Saturday, May 24th, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 340 Argyle Avenue.
Accepted items include batteries, aerosol cans, propane tanks, household cleaners, gasoline, paint, and pool chemicals. Items not accepted include agricultural, commercial, or industrial waste, PCBs, explosives, and containers over 20 liters. Electronics are also no longer collected at these events.
Appointments are 30 minutes long, with multiple vehicles per slot. Fall events are scheduled for Simcoe on October 4th and Langton on October 25th, with registration opening September 4th.
