The Simcoe and District Humane Society is hosting two delicious fundraisers this week to support their busy shelter, offering the community a chance to indulge while helping animals in need.
Throughout the week, they have been doing running their Sweet Week, in celebration of National Cupcake Day.
That was President of the Simcoe and District Humane Society Cathie Hoskin.
Visitors who stop by the shelter during office hours (11 AM to 3 PM) and make a donation will receive a different sweet treat each day.
The reason for a week of treats as opposed to one day? They are swamped.
If you don’t have a sweet tooth, that’s fine.
This Saturday the annual Spayghetti & No Balls Dinner & Silent Auction takes place at the Simcoe Legion.
Doors open at 4 PM, with dinner served from 5-7 PM
Tickets are $30 per person or $10 for kids 10 & under and can be purchased at 24 Grigg Drive, via e-transfer (finance@simcoedhumane.ca), or at Ruffins Pet Centre and Pet Valu in Simcoe.
We will continue our talk with Hoskin next week about what’s going on at the shelter and why these donations matter.
