Waterford’s Seedy Saturday event was a massive success, bringing the community together for a great cause. Organized by Waterford District High School, the event not only celebrated gardening but also supported those in need.
Attendees donated over 500 pounds of canned goods and more than $900 in cash for the Waterford Food Cupboard, providing crucial help to local families.
Jennifer Thompson, a teacher at Waterford High School, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support. “It was amazing to see so many people come together, whether for gardening or to give back to the community,” she said.
Seedy Saturday featured workshops, guest speakers, and a seed exchange, allowing both beginners and experienced gardeners to grow their knowledge.
With such strong community involvement, organizers are already looking forward to making next year’s event even bigger. Waterford has proven once again that it’s a town that grows together.
