Norfolk County has announced holiday hours for various services from December 25, 2024, to January 1, 2025. Here’s what residents need to know:
Administration and Libraries
All county offices will be closed during this period, reopening January 2, 2025. Libraries will operate limited hours on December 24 and 31, but the Waterford Leaf branch will remain closed those days.
Recreation and Culture
Most recreation facilities, including arenas and aquatic centers, will close early on December 24 and 31. They’ll be closed completely on December 25, 26, and January 1. Special skating and swimming schedules are available online. Celebrate the New Year at Talbot Gardens Arena’s New Year’s Bash or visit the Captain’s Polar Bear Levee at Port Dover Harbour Museum on January 1.
Essential Services
Waste collection will be delayed by one day for the weeks of December 25 and January 1. Transfer stations are closed on statutory holidays but operate regular hours otherwise. Critical services, including fire and paramedics, remain fully operational.
