The Simcoe Gentlemen of Harmony are hosting their annual show on November 9th at the Simcoe Composite School Auditorium, with both an afternoon and evening performance scheduled. Roger Weins, the show’s chairman, shared that the Gentlemen of Harmony will be performing alongside some special guest artists.
As part of their efforts to promote acapella singing, the Gentlemen of Harmony will hold a Youth Outreach Program to inspire high school students to experience the joy of acapella. This free workshop, open to both students and staff, will be led by the international guest quartet, Gimme Four, on Friday, November 8th. Students from 15 high schools in the Grand Erie District School Board are invited, with transportation generously provided by Voyago. Youth Outreach coordinator Norm Jamont says the event is both exciting and daunting.
Jamont added that the response thus far has been tremendous. He expressed thanks to Jennifer Ippolito and Sean Beal of Simcoe Composite School for their overwhelming support. Additionally, Jamont told us about a bonus for students who come out to participate.
The event promises to be an inspiring experience. Sign-up sheets will be collected on November 4th from schools. Interested students should contact their music teacher or principal, or email Norm Jamont at nrjamont@gmail.com. Full details are available at gentlemenofharmony.com.
