
McDonald’s Canada says the deadly E. coli outbreak in several U-S states does not affect its Canadian operations.
The company issued a statement saying none of the affected products or ingredients are used in McDonald’s Canadian restaurants.
McDonald’s pulled Quarter Pounders from one-fifth of its U-S stores after at least 49 people in 10 states became sick, with one person dying.
An early investigation suggests fresh slivered onions served raw on Quarter Pounder burgers were a likely source of the contamination.
