The Young Theatre Company is excited to bring a beloved classic to the stage- with a few twists.
Pinocchio is coming to Lighthouse Festival, with the opening set for Wednesday (tonight).
Director Marcus Lundgren took some time from getting this production underway to talk to us at the radio station and talked to us about the process that it takes to get a show like Pinocchio off the ground.
For Lundgren, each show is special because of the young people he meets and gets to know.
For the play itself, he said you will probably know the main beats, but they promise to take you on a ride.
Part of making that show for everyone includes making sure anyone and everyone can attend.
We also had a chance to stop by and chat with some of the cast who, despite being in the Young Company, have a wealth of experience.
That was Oliver Tilson and Kiana Littlemore, both 16, excited to hit the stage yet again.
Tilson has some big shoes to fill, stepping into the role of Geppetto.
We asked what it’s like going out on that stage six years into acting.
While Tilson has a legacy character to make his own, Littlemore is paving a new path.
For Littlemore, that stage has a special connection and one she can’t wait to stand on yet again.
