
Investigators from the Norfolk OPP are requesting witnesses to come forward in relation to an ongoing hit-and-run investigation.
The Norfolk County OPP Crime Unit is urging anyone who may have witnessed or possesses dash cam footage of the collision between a black Hyundai Elantra sedan and a cyclist, which occurred shortly before 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, on Erie Boulevard in Long Point, to come forward.
Residents and seasonal property owners in the area are also being asked to review their home surveillance systems for any potential footage of the incident.
Following the collision, the vehicle fled the scene, but was later found in the City of Hamilton. The driver, a 19-year-old from Dundas, was subsequently taken into custody.
The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team is assisting with the investigation and encourages those with pertinent information to contact the Norfolk County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
