Mayor Amy Martin took to social media over the weekend after facing backlash following another Minister’s visit to Norfolk County.
Last week, Minister of Transportation Prabmeet Sarkaria came down to look at a proposed project in Delhi, meeting with a business owner and elected officials.
Absent was MPP Bobbi Ann Brady, who told us that much like the two other Minister visits this year, she was not invited to attend this event and only found out it took place later that evening.
Brady spoke with us about this, feeling that these visits and the recent issues in Haldimand are part of a concerted effort.
Martin said, at this time, Norfolk County is in no position to turn away a Minister who is asking to come down to visit.
Elaborating, Martin said there has been a drought in provincial funding for years in the area, and she is hoping these visits will lead to change.
Martin also took exception to Brady’s frequent mentions of Norfolk County over the past few weeks in a negative light.
In the end, Martin says the county will continue to work with everyone to ensure what is best for residents.
