Norfolk County is looking into changing boat restrictions at the Port Dover beach.
Right now, it’s designated as a Schedule 1 restriction which means no boats allowed but residents have asked council members and staff to consider going to a Schedule 2, which means no motorized boats.
Staff will apply to change from Schedule 1 to Schedule 2, a process taking until at least 2026.
Staff say this would allow the size of the swim area to change and make the beach area more accessible to boaters and safer for swimmers.
