The Sam Roberts Band will be hitting the stage tonight (Friday) as part of the Fairgrounds Festival.
We spoke with Sam Roberts himself about the upcoming show, saying this isn’t his first time performing on a horse track – saying the band is use to putting tread to the road and hitting up spots all across Ontario.
Roberts says one thing he loves about live performances, and what he is looking forward to tonight, is each time they hit the stage it’s trying to win over that crowd – a challenge that gets them pumped.
We also spoke to Roberts about this music and what people can expect if they happened to be one of the few who haven’t picked up one of his records or heard his song on the radio.
He says they certain classify as “rock” but his opinion of rock is wide ranging.
Over the years, things change have changed for Roberts when it comes to writing music.
Consistency and a bit of lucky seem to be a winning remedy for any writers block that could occur.
He also spoke about the bands they are sharing the stage with tonight, and how that makes tonight extra special.
The Sam Roberts Band will headline tonight’s Fairgrounds Festival, with music kicking off at 7 p.m.
